ROSE OF CHARITY

Rose of Charity is a children’s home that gives wholistic care to Orphans and Vulnerable
children in Hwange District. Currently the home is housing thirty children and working with
seventy-five children from the community between the ages of 0-18 years.

Rose of charity nurtures and cares for children by ensuring provision of basic needs like
shelter over their heads, right to education, ensuring that they have 3 meals a day, clean water
and warm blankets and a priceless mother’s love that they have never gotten before.

Up to date Rose of Charity has assisted more than three-thousand children with food and school
fees with the help of well wishers that visit. The Home’s operations are guided by the National Residential Care Standards of Zimbabwe. We have three houses with three caregivers that are surrogate parents who take care of the children’s protection, health, nutrition and psychosocial support and cognitive aspects of the children’s development. Our long-term goal is to

have five houses.

Schiffner Elementary

In response to the illiteracy prevalence rate of the minors in Victoria Falls as well as to meet
Sustainable Development Goal number four (2), in 2020 Rose of Charity established
Schiffner Elementary.

Moses Lake Academy

Apart from the provision of shelter and food, Rose of Charity has also prioritized education
as an essential need to all children, this is where the idea of building an ECD Centre and
Primary school began.

New Dawn Girls Club

The organization embarked on a girl empowerment club called New Dawn Girls in the year
2011.

ROC Farm

After realizing the inability to offer 3 meals a day, Rose of Charity established the nutritional
garden to provide nutritional support and further impact skills on the marginalized youth
within the area through agricultural skills impartation.

To empower the girl child to stand firm in a male dominated society as well as to instill confidence and boost their self-esteem such that girls find themselves in decision making positions such as parliament.

To offers a safe and friendly environment for discussions and counselling if need be.

ROSE OF CHARITY HOME

To increase child protection access to basic care, support, and identification of the street children in Victoria Falls and Matabeleland North as a whole

To promote a healthy family environment and protect children from all forms of abuse through economic and psychosocial support.

To promote the prevention of HIV/AIDS by engaging the children in special programs that cater for the children with disability and who have been sexually abused particularly the girl child.

To engage in programs for children with special needs, disabled children, sexually abused and street children in Victoria Falls and Matabeleland North.
